Calendar Syncing

Schedapple supports one-way calendar syncing. Appointments can be synced from Schedapple to applications supporting CalDAV calendar syncing. This includes the iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, Apple iCal, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird/Lightning and eM Client. One month of past appointments and all future appointments are synced.
Where: Settings > Calendar Syncing
iPhone and iPod Touch
  1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  2. Tap 'Add Account...', then 'Other'
  3. Under Calendars, tap 'Add CalDAV Account'
  4. Complete the form and then tap 'Next'. (See image below.) Be sure to include the slash at the end of the server address.

    • User name: enter your Schedapple login
    • Password: enter your Schedapple password
    • Description: Schedapple

Android
Android's calendar doesn't currently have direct support for calendar syncing, but CalDAV-Sync is a $2.89 app that will sync your Schedapple appointments to your Android calendar.
(There is a free calendar syncing app, Caldav Sync Free Beta, but it isn't very reliable.)
  1. Download the CalDAV-Sync app from the Play Store.
  2. Open the app and click CalDAV under 'Add an account...'

  3. Complete the form and then tap the Next button. Be sure to include the slash at the end of the server address.
    • Server name or URL: see Calendar Syncing Settings for URL
    • Use SSL: leave checked
    • Username: enter your Schedapple login
    • Password: enter your Schedapple password

  4. Select the checkboxes of schedules you want to sync and then tap the Next button

  5. Tap 'Sync from server to phone only' to check the checkbox, then tap the Finish button

Edit the CalDAV-Sync settings to change the calendar syncing interval because the default sync interval is every 6 hours.
  1. Tap 'Edit account settings'

  2. Tap 'Sync interval' and select how often you want the calendar updated (e.g. every 30 minutes)

iCal
iCal is the Mac OS X built-in calendar application.
  1. Select the menu, iCal > Preferences
  2. Click Accounts at the top of the Preferences window
  3. Click the '+' button in the lower-left of the Preferences window
  4. Complete the form and then click the Create button. (See image below.) Be sure to include the slash at the end of the server address.
    • Account type: CalDAV
    • User name: enter your Schedapple login
    • Password: enter your Schedapple password

Microsoft Outlook
Outlook doesn't currently have direct support for calendar syncing, but a calendar syncing plug-in is available that will sync your Schedapple appointments to the Outlook calendar. The Outlook plug-in, Bynari WebDAV Collaborator, adds support for the CalDAV syncing standard; Bynari charges a one-time software license fee of $29/per user.
  1. Download and install the Bynari WebDAV Collaborator, a 30-day free trial is available at c|net.
  2. Go to the Outlook Calendar and click the 'WebDAV Collaborator' tab

  3. Click 'Configure', then complete the form and click the OK button (see image below).
    • Username: enter your Schedapple login
    • Password: enter your Schedapple password
    • Server URL: see Calendar Syncing Settings for URL

  4. Click 'Settings', then set Synchronization Modes to 'Merge server data into Outlook' and click the OK button.

Mozilla Thunderbird/Lightning
Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, open-source email application for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Mozilla Lightning is the integrated calendar add-on for Thunderbird. Lightning has a much different set-up for calendar syncing than the other applications listed since you must create calendars for syncing each combination of Schedapple location and schedule.
  1. Select the menu, File > Calendar
  2. Click the 'On the Network' radio button and then click the Next button
  3. Under Format click the 'CalDav' radio button, add one of the web addresses listed in the Calendar Syncing Settings, and then click the Next button. (See image below.)
  4. Add a Name, select Email: None and then click the Next button
  5. Click the Finish button.
  6. Enter your user name and password when prompted.

eM Client
eM Client is a Windows-based email, calendar, and instant messaging application.
  1. Select the menu, Tools > Accounts
  2. Click the 'New account...' button
  3. In the Account Wizard window, under Calendasr select CalDAV and then click the Next button.
